eDOT Archive Edition Tutorial

As part of ERI's free Platform Library ERI offers a free software edition of the U.S. Department of Labor's original Dictionary of Occupational Titles (DOT) to the general public - subscribers and non-subscribers alike.
This software can be accessed as follows.

First open up the enhanced Dictionary of Occupational Titles. From now on we'll refer to it by its abbreviation, eDOT.

eDOT opens with a disclaimer. Please review it, then select the circle next to "I have read and understand the disclaimer" and click on the OK button.

When running eDOT for the first time, the next screen that appears is called 'Submit New Data' and lets you input position data from your organization for use in future eDOT editions. (You can access this option at any time from the eDOT Internet menu.) To skip this screen, click on the Cancel button at the lower right-hand corner.

Now you need to select which edition to use. eDOT has 7 different editions, depending on what type of analysis you want to run. The Archive DOT edition is free, and contains original DOT information, unaltered by modern eDOT methodology.

Step 1: Click on the Edition menu at the top of the eDOT screen.
Step 2: A drop-down menu will appear. Click on Archive DOT.
