Work Analysis Seminar - None Scheduled.
At this in-person seminar, you'll learn how to perform detailed work analyses using PAQ software and technologies. PAQ allows the development of a complete occupational analysis useful for the following management activities:
- writing of task statements
- setting performance metrics
- preparing ADA compliant materials
- defining job board requirements
- internal equity grade assignments
- US FLSA overtime determinations
- disability determinations
- predicting external competitive pay
- assuring "square pegs" fit "square holes"
This comprehensive work description and analysis methodology has been used by tens of thousands of field occupational analysts, conducting over a million subject matter expert job analyses since 1974. Its construct, found in PAQ's work analysis software, has been used successfully in America since 1939. The key to this success has been specific knowledge about work characteristics found in "specific occupations" as contrasted to national governments' "job family" approaches. "Occupations" are what are asked for on IRS tax returns, requested on loan applications, described in employment applications, tested in FLSA overtime determinations, and the needed description for a disabled person attempting to reenter the workforce. "Job families" don't tell or help much in these areas (although they are useful for EEO-1 reporting, Workers' Compensation reports, and succession/career planning). Note, the US government now calls occupational groups or job families "occupations."

Learn How to Conduct Work Analyses
PAQ Services, Inc. provides work analysis seminars to train compensation, employment, management, and Human Resource professionals, typically new to the profession whose job responsibilities include job, organization, occupation, or compensation analyses. At these two-day seminars, you'll develop the skills to interview job incumbents and develop full work analyses and task descriptions. Typically, the first day of training includes two "hands-on" occupational analyses and a full emersion in the use of the PAQ questionnaire. Day two typically includes use of these work analyses in applications that include determining the hierarchy of jobs, suggesting salary grade assignments, drafting position descriptions, identifying employee selection criteria, developing labor economic data for disability determination, an FLSA analysis, and much more. Attend sessions in Bellingham, Washington, or host our business-to-business classes at your organization's location (8 or more attendees required).
